Megan is a botanical ecologist with over two decades of experience in the research and consultancy industries. Bringing a thorough understanding of State and Commonwealth legislation as it pertains to ecology, Megan continues to apply her ecological skills across a diverse range of projects and sectors throughout Queensland.
With a wealth of field survey experience, Megan offers vegetation community and flora species identification skills across an array of vegetation communities in Queensland including terrestrial ecosystems, freshwater wetlands and marine plants. She also brings specialist experience in vegetation characterisation and mapping; targeted flora species searches and habitat assessment; revegetation and biodiversity offsets; ecological constraints analysis; impact assessment and management; and ecological approvals.
As one of our Principal Ecologists, Megan is a ‘suitably qualified person’ under the State’s Flora Survey Guidelines. Since joining e2m in 2016, John has been instrumental in driving the integration of emerging technologies into ecological practice and has played a key role in developing our state-of-the-art call and image detection models, combining technical rigour with a passion for innovation. This is exemplified by his PhD research, which applied machine learning techniques to bird bioacoustics and automated telemetry. His forward-thinking approach continues to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of assessments for our clients.

Kirk is a Principal Consultant with 15 years professional experience delivering environmental impact assessments, primarily in Queensland’s mining and infrastructure industries. He is an experienced project manager of approvals programs. He brings a deep understanding of approvals pathways and a focus on project governance and risk management that ensures approvals risks are identified and addressed early, mitigating unnecessary project delays.

Meredith is a principal ecologist with more than 20 years’ experience in terrestrial ecology assessment. She has delivered ecological assessment and approvals documentation, and advice, for varied projects and clients, particularly mining projects, gas field developments, renewable energy projects, large linear infrastructure development and Defence training and infrastructure investments.
While Meredith developed her ecological foundations in flora and fauna field survey, she has since focused on technical reporting and reviews, project management and approvals. Her roles have included technical lead and project manager for small, targeted scopes as well as large multidisciplinary projects.
Meredith’s professional pathway has paralleled the commencement and evolution of our key state and national environmental legislation, which has necessitated adaptability in her approach to complex projects.
