The Project

Origin Energy operates the Australia Pacific LNG project—one of Australia’s largest integrated energy developments—spanning expansive gas fields and transmission infrastructure across Queensland. Over a decade ago, e2m’s partnership with Origin began when our CEO, Scott Baker, founded the business to support Origin’s rehabilitation monitoring and land management needs. From the outset, our shared values—particularly a commitment to safety, trust, and results—formed the foundation of a strong working relationship. What began as a focused engagement has grown into a long-term partnership, supporting rehabilitation, compliance, and monitoring across nearly 6,500 sites from Dalby to Gladstone. Today, e2m custom designed methodology plays a critical role in delivering monitoring services across Origin’s operations, adapting to the scale and complexity of their evolving footprint.

Our Approach

e2m has partnered with Origin for over a decade, delivering ecological monitoring and reporting services across the full Australia Pacific LNG project area. Our scope has grown from 2,000 to nearly 6,500 monitoring points, covering gas fields, pipelines, and associated infrastructure. Key elements of our approach include:
Custom-designed methodologies tailored to Origin’s operational footprint and regulatory requirements.
A strong safety-first culture aligned with Origin’s HSE standards, ensuring safe delivery across remote and rural locations.
Integration of innovative technologies, including a custom-built reporting tool that automates data capture, aligns with Origin’s systems, and reduces reporting timeframes from months to days.
A consistent, embedded team of ecologists who understand Origin’s operations, enabling efficient delivery and continuous improvement.

Outcomes

Over more than a decade, e2m has delivered consistent, high-quality ecological monitoring and reporting across Origin’s Australia Pacific LNG operations. Our embedded safety-first culture has enabled us to meet stringent HSE requirements while monitoring over 6,500 remote and rural locations—ensuring our team returns safely and our work aligns with Origin’s uncompromising safety standards. The long-term nature of the partnership has fostered deep operational understanding, allowing us to deliver with precision, consistency, and trust. Every deliverable is tailored with intent—designed to meet Origin’s specific needs and refined through continuous improvement. Our investment in robust technology has further enhanced delivery, including the development of a custom reporting tool that automates data capture, integrates with Origin’s systems, and reduces reporting timeframes from months to days. This has improved accuracy, reduced manual effort, and delivered cost efficiencies. Ultimately, our ability to provide reliable, responsive service has built a relationship grounded in trust and performance—giving Origin confidence that work is completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.
