E2M, a leading ecological consulting firm, proudly marks its 10th anniversary, reflecting on a decade of delivering high-quality, client-focused services across the Oil & Gas, Renewable Energy, Infrastructure and Mining sectors. What started as a two-person team in a small office in Brisbane’s West End has grown into the largest team of ecologists in Queensland.
Reflecting on this milestone, Scott Baker, CEO of E2M, shared: “When I founded E2M, my vision was simple—to provide high-quality ecological consulting services that deliver exactly what our clients need, on time, every time. A decade later, by staying in our lane, and doing what we do well, I’m proud to say we’ve achieved that and so much more.”
E2M was built with a clear purpose in mind: to be great people delivering balanced environmental outcomes. This focus continues to drive the firm today. “In the beginning, we knew the market needed better ecological solutions, and we were committed to filling that gap. As we tackled our first projects, it became clear that collaboration was key to creating lasting ecological benefits,” Baker explained. “That approach helped us grow—from one client to many—and now, a decade later, we continue to scale.”
As E2M expanded its services, so did its reach. The firm, which began its journey supporting the Gas sector, quickly found its footing in the Renewables, Mining and Infrastructure sectors. “We’ve always believed that industrial growth and ecological integrity can go hand in hand,” Baker said. “Today, customers tell us that they value and trust our ability to deliver what they need with professionalism, quality, transparency, responsiveness – and that we’re great people who are easy to deal with. That makes me extremely proud of how far we’ve come as a business.”
Innovation has also been central to E2M’s success. From bioacoustics to image detection, the firm has consistently embraced technology to deliver faster, more accurate outcomes for clients. “We’ve always been on the front foot, finding new ways to add value in as many areas as possible. Now, we’re proud to be at the forefront of technology-driven ecology, working on flagship projects that are making a measurable difference to the world we live in,” said Baker.
The growth of E2M’s team has been equally rewarding. “One of the best parts of this journey has been seeing our talented team evolve. We’ve attracted some of the brightest minds in ecology and we’re committed to mentoring and investing in the next generation,” Baker shared. “At the core of our team’s success is our strong set of values and a deep respect for each other and the environment.”
