Meredith is a terrestrial ecologist with more than 20 years’ experience in the environment field, across a range of sectors. Meredith has held many roles during this time, including technical lead and project manager for small, targeted scopes as well as large multidisciplinary projects. She has delivered ecological assessment and approvals documentation, and advice, for varied projects and clients, particularly mining projects, gas field developments, renewable energy projects, large linear infrastructure development and Defence training and infrastructure investments.
While she developed her ecological foundations in flora and fauna field survey, she has since focused on technical reporting and reviews, project management and approvals. Meredith’s experience has been predominantly in the private sector, which has resulted in opportunities to work with all levels of government, non-profit organisations, community groups, educational and research organisations, a range of industries and environment and engineering specialists.
Meredith’s professional pathway has paralleled the commencement and evolution of our key state and national environmental legislation, which has necessitated adaptability and innovation in her approach to complex projects. As a result, Meredith has developed a strong knowledge of relevant local, state and Commonwealth biodiversity legislation and policy and recognises the challenges for project development within the evolving regulatory framework.
